A bit about Oliver Sweeney

May 19, 2021

Once upon time (1969 to be precise) there was a cool kid who dreamt of running away to London to be a shoemaker. So he did. That 16-year-old with big ideas was Oliver Sweeney. After two decades learning his craft from some of the best bespoke shoemakers in the business, he decided to go it alone, founded his eponymous business, and went on to be one of the great maverick shoe designers of his generation. The rest, as they say, is history.
From the very start, Oliver Sweeney's business has had a simple philosophy: create classic timeless styles with a modern twist of something special; design beautiful shoes and have them made by the best shoemakers in the world (Italian as it happens) from the finest materials. And that is exactly why we are proud to be a stockist of Oliver Sweeney!
Ossos combines the best of both soft supple calf suede with a practical calf leather toe cap and tongue. Sweeney has treated the suede with a powerful water repellent and included a full leather lining and deep cushioned leather insock. Clean lines and supreme comfort - definitely the best of both. Keep the suede topped up with a water repellent spray.
We recommend you style this sneaker up with a pair of light wash blue jeans and a crisp white T-shirt for the perfect day-to-day look.

Our Ledo trainer is guaranteed to put a spring in your step. A super lightweight running sole with a deep cushioned leather insock. The oiled nubuck calf upper is unlined, keeping it light and flexible. A great asset to shorts, jeans and chinos. Or, If you fancy a more sporty approach a pair of navy joggers and a matching Tee is a great stay at home look.
It's the attention to detail that Oliver Sweeney's artisan Italian factory in Le Marche do so well. An intricate chain-stitch row provides the apron detail on this immaculate calf leather monk shoe, meticulously antiqued by hand. The blake stitched construction creates a clean, sleek profile with their signature green milled sole; the central part of the leather sole is milled by hand, then filled with TPU to create a more practical, durable base. Fully leather lined of course. For all of you returning to work, this a great way to go back with a bang! All eyes will be on these hand painted beauties, especially if they are paired with a navy suit!
