We really love the incomplete nature of the head and face that allows the belt to show through from below, acting as the perfect frame for the striking skull design. In terms of its size it is very neat and tidy and certainly not overwhelming, worn as easily with jeans as with trousers. Worried a skull buckle is not quite you? If you like the idea of animal inspired buckles then you won't go far wrong with this lion inspired buckle with its piercing crystal eyes. The look and feel of genuine ostrich skin differs distinctly from the more traditional group of exotic skins. Its matte almost antique finish gives it a slightly more casual feel and the nature of the skin pattern with its distinctive quills means that there is an inevitable tonality in the skin colour, with the quills appearing darker than the smoother skin. In this blue jeans tone the tonality is quite subtle but still makes the belt extremely flexible to wear giving you multiple tones of denim blue to work with. We chose to pair the strap with this satin silver finish buckle as we wanted to keep the focus very firmly on the beautiful colour of the belt...the buckle itself is slim and elegant making it versatile for any number of occasions from casual to smarter. If you like the idea of moving away from flatter leather to something a little more tactile then 'hair on' cowhide, or 'Pony Hair' as we like to call it is a really great alternative. This belt is finished as ever with tonal leather edge piping that adds a smoothness and subtle contrast. The buckle is sleek and with its gently sculpted edges and dimple detail certainly has its own individual style but it keeps the focus of this belt firmly on the belt colour and texture. The belt definitely has a fun factor about it that makes it ideal for wearing casually and with jeans, although the more daring amongst you might try it for a more contemporary evening style.
